Education
I graduated last December from the University of Memphis with my Master's Degree in Applied Medical Anthropology. Before that, I graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University. Additionally, I am a certified teacher in the Republic of the Marshall Islands and have certification to teach English as a second language.
Experience
I have extensive experience teaching people of all ages in groups and one-on-one. After finishing undergrad I spent a year as a Full-time Elementary/Middle School English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher in the tiny country of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. I was responsible for creating my own course curriculum for grades 4-8, assessing students' progress, and offering additional assistance outside of school for those who needed it. After returning stateside, I spent a year in service as an AmeriCorps national service member in Douglasville, GA. My position entailed tutoring teenage girls in a range of subjects as they tried to get caught up with their respective grade levels. I also served as a teaching assistant to entire classrooms, and developed educational after-school programs for a wide range of age groups. During this time I also volunteered at the local Boys and Girls club as a tutor during "Power Hour" for elementary school students.
