Experience
I have a passion for both learning and teaching concepts about the world of science, and I hope to share my passion with others. My teaching and tutoring experiences have taken me around the globe. I attended New College of Florida, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Ecology. During my time there I was a teaching assistant, working with other students in a wide variety of science topics. I also spent time at the University of Georgia, tutoring members of athletic teams in science topics, such as biology, and Spanish. I have also spent time in Peru and Puerto Rico studying water resources and medicinal plants.I have found that I particularly enjoy working with students to create diagrams, concept maps, and topic summaries as part of the learning experience. I feel that if you can take the truly important information and focus on it, it will make it easier to see how all of those pieces tie together. Since people learn in different ways and at different paces, I like to show my students the best path for their own individual success, and then let them achieve that success. Though my passion lies in environmental sciences, I am also able and willing to teach other subjects, including algebra, Spanish, and test preparation.
