Experience
I have 10 years of teaching experience including 7 as a college laboratory instructor, and 3 as a high school science teacher. Most of my experience comes from teaching in college level sciences. I have experience working with students majoring in their respective fields as well as non-majors working through their elective science credits. I am prepared to meet your needs, whether that be working through the specifics of DNA replication to just the general principals behind how your genes control your body. I love helping people get to the "light bulb" moment, that moment when all the pieces come together and the whole is understood. My goal is to find simplistic and specific ways to enhance your performance in any aspect of the life sciences. Biology Experience: I have been running and instructing biology labs since 2006. In 2008, I was responsible for training the graduate teaching assistants--teaching the teachers--for the evolutionary biology classes. Geology Experience: I took several classes in geology so as to get a greater understanding of life's connection to its environment. I have taken field classes focusing on the integration of geology and biology and try to utilize this training in my high school classroom. Teacher Training: I earned my graduate degree in science education in 2012. To keep my science fresh, I also took several Ph.D. classes in genetics. During that time, I was responsible for teaching genetics and general biology labs and lectures. Upon graduating, I currently hold Georgia certification to teach all middle and high school sciences.
