Experience
In the field of writing, I have experience creatively, competitively, and journalistically. I wrote part of a play that was performed at my hometown's local theatre; I competed in the Regional Literary Competition's essay-writing contest from sophomore year to senior year; and I wrote on my high school's newspaper for four years. My mother is an English teacher who is known for helping students pass state-issued writing tests, and she has let me in on a lot of her tips concerning grammar and form. I have been constantly asked by my friends to double-check their grammar and punctuation in scholastic essays. I would be more than happy to help a child with absolutely any issue in the area of writing. My main specialty in history is the Tudor dynasty; of the Tudors, my favorite monarch is Queen Elizabeth I, but I also know quite a bit about Queen Mary I and King Henry VIII. I also have considerable interests in ancient Greece and Rome; Colonial America; the American Revolution; the American Civil War; the Presidential eras of Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, and John Kennedy; and World War II. In the area of social studies, I am most well-educated in the fields of alternative energy, the greening of business, and resource conservation. Although the above issues are my forte, I am interested in all aspects of social studies. Along with the above scholastic subjects, I have a lot of experience in public speaking and dramatic work. I would be more than happy to coach your child and provide him or her with public speaking guidelines. I also have an extensive background in the area of projects and presentations that utilize tri-boards, PowerPoints, and the like; if your child has a project or presentation in any of the above-mentioned subjects, I will be happy to help him or her with it and provide him or her with strategies that can be applied to any type of project.
