Experience

I am currently employed as an athlete tutor (tutoring General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry) at University of Georgia Athletic Association Academic Support Services. Volunteer Experience Athens Tutorial Program, Athens, GA Math & Science Tutor (January 2013-present) I am a pre-med student. I am really interested in working as a private tutor during my gap semester. Tutoring is a great way for me to learn more about the subjects, biology and psychology, that I am interested in by assisting other people with their academic difficulty. I believe that trying to explain the concepts that I had learned in class to someone else who has difficulty with that concept is a great way to master the learning material for that class. If there are informations that I don’t know from the class, I can look it up for the other student, which is a great way to learn new material both for myself and the student. In addition, it also really helps me keep the material clear in my head by reinforcing the concepts to the student. The student in return will learn the academic material in a quicker and more comfortable manner, for they see their tutor as a peer and will not be as intimidated to ask questions, unlike to a professor.  In addition, tutoring is a great way to interact and socialize with other students by building positive relationships with each other and trying to solve problems as a team. Therefore, I will strive to become the best tutor I can be, who will explain learning materials clearly and patiently letting the student know I am always willing to help.
