I received my master's degree in English Education from the University of Missouri. I am currently a Linguistics Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia. My studies have allowed me the experience needed to help students learn a new language. I am a native Chinese speaker who has taught English to Chinese students. On top of that, I have also worked with bilingual children at a Chinese language school. My past experiences have given me teaching skills and the ability to work with students from a variety of backgrounds. I believe that it is important to learn the culture attached to a language. By teaching culture along with the language, my students are better able to think and speak in that language. I believe it helps students connect with the language, therefore making it easier and more interesting to learn.In my free time, I like to cook, ride my bicycle, practice yoga, and read.
